Big Bang has been spotted by the public while taking a summer vacation in the side of Han River.

Big Bang did a photoshoot on March 16th for Italian sport brand, FILA’s summer collection.

The five members of Big Bang has been busy with individual schedules after their last concert on February 1st. The concepts for this photoshoot were ‘brightness’ and ‘healthiness’; they were perfect for the images, and were stylish to prove their status as ’style icons’.

It was hard for the photoshoot on 16th due to the sand wind and cold weather. Big Bang members were in short sleeves and shorts; despite the bad weather, they were professional. While the yacht on the river was shaking vigorously due to the strong wind, they were still able to jump and dance for the photos.

This campaign will be on around May through videos, papers and stores after their spring collection.

Big Bang will carry out individual schedules as solo artists, in variety shows and acting, and is scheduled to release a next album.

The 45th Baeksang Arts Awards is here! This time round the award ceremony will be held on the 27th of February at Seoul Olympic Park. With the event getting near in slightly more than a month’s time, the committee has released the nominees list yesterday.

For the TV Drama section, we have Kim Myung Min, Song Seung Hun, Lee Joon Ki, Park Yong Ha and Song Il Gook vying for the top excellence actor award and Kim Hye Ja, Moon Geun Young, Kim Ji Soo, Han Ye Seul and Han Ji Hye competing for the top excellence actress award. ‘Female Big Bang‘ to debut in May and be active all the way till year-end

‘Female Big Bang‘ will debut and make their scene in the Kpop zone in May.

With their name not officially known to have decided, the group was called the ‘femaleBig Bang‘ by netizens.

YG Entertainment said,”We had plans for YG’s new female group to debut in April. Much effort has been put into the selection of songs etc hence the earliest that fans can meet with this group will be in May.”

“Right now, they have completed about 10 songs. We have also in mind what the title song will be out of the 10 songs. But until their debut in May, we will collect more songs for the album.”

TOP will join “IRIS” crew on 03/17

Japan is shaken up from the visits of hallyu stars.

There are many Japanese visiting Akita-hyun (the site where drama IRIS is being filmed) to see Lee Byunghun, Kim Taehee and more. They have booked the hotels around the filming site, so much that Yang Hyunsuk from YG entertainment is having trouble finding a room.

The first take of IRIS has begun on 10th, and Japanese fans have been around the hotels and filming site to see the faces of their favourite stars.

Japanese Broadcasting stations are also eyeing the steps of these stars.

The interest will be heightened when TOP of Big Bang joins the crew on 17th. Previous hallyu stars have been famous among the ah-joom-ma’s, it is highly predicted that TOP will bring the fans of younger ages. Because Big Bang has released albums in Japan, people are already feeling the vibe of new hallyu star.

THe filming of IRIS will take around 3 weeks; there will be dating scenes of Lee Byunghun and Kim Taehee (will appear as a couple in the drama), and there are action scenes to be filmed.

IRIS is the first-ever-drama to try a spy,action thriller in tv drama- it deals with the conflict between assacination of North Korea leader and government groups. It will be aired around september through KBS.

Big Bang was been recently selected to model for Hite Beer. In the CF, Big Bang will be dressed as firefighters and will be enjoying the refreshing drink with their friends and will also be doing a mini-concert.
This beer CF will be a challenge on Big Bang’s idol image. Of the 5 members, TOP is 23 years old, GDragon 22, TaeYang 22, DaeSung 21 and SeungRi 20. They are the youngest celebrities to endorse the beer so far.

Big Bang will now dedicate time to their individual activities as singers and actors.
YG Entertainment said on March 6, “G-Dragon is working very hard to release a solo album in April. After that, there are plans to release TaeYang’s solo album as well.”
G-Dragon is currently working on his first solo album, and as a producer. TaeYang released a mini album last year, so this will be his second solo project.
After finishing solo activities for “Strong Baby,” SeungRi has finished his movie “Why Did You Come to My House” and has been casted for “71.” He will also be in the joint drama telecinema “My 19-Year-Old.”
Top will be acting with in the drama “Iris,” starring Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Hee, and starts shooting in mid-March. Top is also in “My 19-Year Old” with SeungRi and they are currently waiting to be cast and for shooting.

Big Bang was in Seoul YangCheonGoo Broadcasting association cenrtre on 6th March for the 21st Korea PD Awards. And they have won the Singer Awards.
Leader GDragon said after the ceremony, “We have been all along promoting as singers with other seniors and juniors, of all positions this is one really nervous position to be in. As a singers, we also venture out into other areas, we will continue to work hard as Big Bang no matter what we will be doing. We would like to thank the company, our families and our fans.”

Big Bang’s Book Printed Over 160,000 Copies | Daesung’s UFO Message

Big Bang’s book, ‘Cry out loud to the world about you’ is about to surpass the album counts. Published/Released on January 28th, initial press of 100,000 copies are sold out, and additional 60,000 copies were printed, and out in the bookstore.
The response is phenomenal: it is placed as the best seller in many online bookstore websites (on the top on Yes24, and second place on Aladdin and Intepark). When the promotion takes place in the coming days, the number of copies sold is predicted to increase. Big Bang is having a press conference regarding their book at Seoul Press Center on Feb. 6, 2pm to actively advertise the book.
It is also interesting to watch whether it will surpass the album counts- the highest counted for a single album is 200,000 (their second volume ‘Remember’). Because Big Bang has huge impact not only in music industry, but also in fashion and culture trends, book sale can be predicted to surpass their album sales.

At the announcement of the 2009 Korean Music Awards Nominees, nearly all ‘idol’ singers were noticeably absent from the list of nominees.
At the press conference for the 6th Annual Korean Music Awards—which was held at 10:30 A.M. on February 4 at the Seoul Joong-Gu TaePyong Korea Press Center—both a general outline for the upcoming ceremony and a list of nominees by category were announced.
Nominees in competition for the 2009 Korean Music Awards were selected from a review of songs and albums released domestically starting November 1, 2007 through October 31, 2008. Sister’s Barbershop’s ‘Most Ordinary Existence’ was nominated in a total of 5 categories including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Modern Rock Album and Best Modern Rock Song. Galaxy Express, Verbal Jint, Toy, Kim DongRyul, and W&Whale each received nominations in 4 categories. However, it was difficult to find the names of any of the so-called ‘idol’ singers among them.
Neither Seo Taiji’s first single from his 8th album nor Rain’s 5th album ‘Rainism’ earned nominations. TVXQ and Big Bang, each of whom drew a lot of popularity in the last year, were excluded from the list of nominees as their album release dates were November 12 and November 5 respectively.

The Wonder Girls received nominations in two categories including Song of the Year and Best Dance & Electronic Song, as well as a nomination in the Netizen’s Artist of Year category. Lee HyoRi’s earned her a nomination in the Best Dance & Electronic Song category. Big Bang’s TaeYang became a nominee in both the Best R&B/Soul Album and Best R&B/Soul Song categories, but Big Bang was unable to earn nominations in any of the categories.
A representative for the Korean Music Awards revealed, “The idea that the Korean Music Awards is biased towards indie music while giving mainstream music the cold shoulder is a misconception. The judging committee isn’t merely a group that makes its evaluations based on a single opinion or point-of-view. The nominees are selected in a collective evaluative process by a committee of 52 judges with a variety of perspectives.” The representative added, “No other aspect besides music is considered when selecting nominees. Musical value and the final product are the main concerns during evaluation.”
The Korean Music Awards seeks to treat music as more than a mere form of amusement but as an art, and musicians as artists instead of entertainers. With such a basis, more attention is paid to albums and songs rather than singers, and musical achievement represents the standard rather than sales figures. The ultimate goal of the Korean Music Awards is to move beyond the mainstream vs. independent debate and to create a foundation upon which Korean music can progress in a balanced, positive manner.
Music critics, journalists specializing in music, music producers, members of academia and of the public specializing in music, will all participate in the selection process by reviewing music released in the past year. Netizen voting will also be reflected.
The Korean Music Awards will take place at KonKuk University’s New Millenium Hall. Yoon DoHyun will host to the ceremony and Achievement Award winner, SanUlLim’s Kim ChangWan, will perform.

May Doni, “Female Big Bang will not be like any other girl group”

‘Female Se7en‘ May Doni talked a little about upcoming group ‘female Big Bang‘.

She said in an interview recently, “Female Big Bang will have a totally different feel from your normal singer group. Their rap and dance capabilities is incredible. They will not be your normal cute or sexy concept girl group.”

Sandara Park to Make Acting Debut

Filipino star Sandara Park is to make her acting debut in a Korea drama, “The Return of Iljimae.” She will appear as Rie, a ninja who meets with the show’s main character, Iljimae, in Japan. She will demonstrate her stunning martial arts moves in the upcoming episodes, which will start airing on February 11th. Park’s representative, YG Entertainment, said that Park has plans to appear on two more Korean dramas this year. She is also a member of Big Bang’s female version. Her singing career in Korea will be launched after her drama appearance. Park has been a top singing and acting star in the Philippines. She signed a contract with YG Entertainment in 2007 to start her career anew in Korea. She was first introduced to the Korean public through singer Gummy’s music video in which she kissed Top, a member of today’s hottest group, Big Bang. She grew up in the Philippines when her family moved there when she was 10 years old.

Big Bang member, Seung Ri plans to reveal the remix version of his solo track, ‘Strong Baby.’ Activites for the the remix version will begin starting on the 14th on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core.’

Gradually, with the display of every different stage Seung Ri was not satisfied, “Having been active with the same track for a month now tiring the fans, a new remix version was revealed,” and “with the immense help of 1TYM member Teddy, a new sound featuring the distinct style of YG was created.”

Big Bang DaeSung reveals a nickname for fellow member TOP ‘Bing Goo TOP‘ because of the many foolish acts that TOP had pulled.

During SBS Family Outing episode aired on 15th February, DaeSung reveals the little secret about his hyung member. They had come together to make breakfast that day with Yoo Jae Seok and Yoon Jong Shin.

And DaeSung said, “TOP hyung’s nickname is ‘Bing Goo TOP‘. At the company, he will pull many foolish acts and we gave him that nickname. He even do funny dances.”

With that, Yoo Jae Seok and Yoon Jong Shin started calling TOP by ‘Bing Goo TOP‘.

TOP, “You had revealed the title given to me that I don’t like the most.” And DaeSung replied, “I didn’t know hyung didn’t like that.”

KBS 2TV Music Bank did a little reorganisation to their show on 11th January 2008 introducing their own ‘K Chart’ and upgrading itself to become ‘MuBank K Chart Show’.

With its 500th episode coming, we see the different records made on the show in the past 1 year.

And group Big Bang is the number 1 winner on the chart for the past year.

‘K-Chart’ is a collection of several charts - album record chart, digital record chart, viewers preference chart.

Big Bang was the first winner on K Chart on 11th January last year with the song ‘Last Farewell’. They were also the winner for the month of January on K Chart aired on 1st February.

Subsequently, for the rest of the months, the winners are:

• March- Jewelry
• April- Lee Seung Gi
