Earlier today, YG Entertainment and Nikon Imaging Korea held a ceremony celebrating their collaboration at Seoul’s Hyatt Hotel.

The two companies announced plans to continue their joint partnership, which has proven to be a mutually beneficial relationship.

Nikon Imaging Korea revealed that they would feature the YG stars in their year-long campaign. The campaign is called ‘A Shot A Day‘, and Nikon products will be used to capture the stars’ daily lives, which will be later released in an episode format.

Shortly after this announcement, the Nikon Imaging Korea official website was updated with official photos of the YG Entertainment artists, check out the photos below.

Big Bang, Super Junior, & KARA will not perform in MBC’s ‘50th Anniversary Korean Music Wave Concert’

It was just announced that Super Junior, KARA, and Big Bang will not perform at MBC’s “50th Anniversary Korean Music Wave Concert in Bangkok“.

MBC will be sending their ‘Show! Music Core‘ staff to Thailand on March 10th to prepare for the epic event. The music program’s PD has already flown to Thailand to manage the production.

The concert will feature 15 popular artists, who have reorganized their schedules in order to participate in this overseas concert.

KARA considered performing, but ultimately made the decision not to perform. Reportedly, the girls felt uncomfortable about appearing on TV during the middle of their contract dispute.

Big Bang will not be participating, since MBC’s list of performing artists was already finalized before they released their album. As for Super Junior, the boys are currently busy with their unit activities and overseas promotions.

It has not yet been announced when the concert will air in Korea. Though the event takes place on March 12th, viewers will see only a regular episode of ‘Show! Music Core’. Since most of the staff will be in Thailand on that day, MBC will air the pre-recorded show that was filmed on the 5th.

2NE1 reveals new song ‘Try To Be Like Me’

With So Nyeo Shi Dae starting off the girlgroup fever with new song ‘Oh!’, girlgroup 2NE1 is the next to reveal a new song.

2NE1 revealed their new song ‘날 따라 해봐요 (Try To Me Like Me)’ on various music sites on 9th February. ‘Follow Me’ is, like most of 2NE1’s hit songs, produced by Teddy and is a hip hop song sampling on song ‘나처럼 해봐요(Do It Like Me)’.

The lyrics to the song brings the message to females to be confident and dignified, like 2NE1’s previous hit songs.

Meanwhile, with ‘Oh!’ starting off the year with girlgroup fever, much anticipation is for how this new song will turn out.

YG, Unaware of GD’s Cameo Appearance in 2NE1’s MV

YG, “We didn’t know of GDragon’s short cameo act in ‘Fire’ MV until fans pointed out”
With the release 2NE1’s ‘Fire’ MV, many fans pointed out the cameo appearance of Big Bang member GDragon.
There were 2 versions to the MV revealed on 6th May – space and street version, which got 1.5 and 1 million views on GomTV as of 9th May. While on other portal sites, the MVs were said to have attracted more than 2.5 milion views.
With that many netizens and fans caught the 2 seconds cameo apperance of Big Bang GDragon for the street version of the MV, doing his comical act behind member Gong MinJi.
But YG Entertainment said, “We did not know of GDragon’s cameo comic act behind member Gong MinJi for the street version of the MV as pointed out by Big Bang fans. It was because he was behind Gong MinJi and his appearance was so short.”
“But with the release of the MV online, Big Bang fans were fast to spot him in the MV. And it quickly became a topic amongst netizens and fans on the internet.”
The YG representative said, “GDragon went to the filming spot for the MV filming to give support to the 2NE1 members whom he is close to. And with no earlier plans for it, he went directly for a cameo appearance to show support to 2NE1.”.

[News] 2NE1 proves to be a big hit - more than 500K views in just 2 hours after MV release

Group 2NE1 has proven to be a big hit. The MV to their debut song ‘Fire’ has been revealed on the 6th.

And in just 2 hours into the release of the MV, it has attracted more than 500,0oo views to GomTv site which was the first to reveal the MV.

A YG representative said, “The MV has attracted more than 500,000 views in just over 2 hours since its reveal on 6th May. We are in the state of bewilderment.”

2NE1 is YG’s new female group consisting of 4 member CL as the rapper leader, Sandara Park, Gong Min Ji and Park Bom. They also recently sang for the CM song for LG Lollipop phone with group Big Bang.

2NE1, 15,000 Fans Confirmed Within 5 Days of ‘Fire’ Release

Fans’ interest in new girl group 2NE1 is out of the ordinary.

YG Entertainment’s new 4-person girl group, which is composed of CL, Sandara Park, Gong MinJi, and Park Bom, released 10 seconds of their official debut song ‘Fire’ every day from May 2-5 after 20 seconds being released on the first through their official homepage. Currently, on the 5th, 70 seconds is out to the general public.

2NE1, who gained popularity through ‘Lollipop’ which they sang together with Big Bang, and who has become fairly famous between pop music fans, was so-called the “female Big Bang” from before debut. 2NE1 is raising their value with their release of ‘Fire.’ From the 1st to the 5th of May, in a mere 5 days, 15,000 fans have subscribed to their official fan café.

In the afternoon of the 5th, YG Entertainment revealed that “2NE1’s official café was made in March, but it was on the 1st, when we released the first segment of ‘Fire,’ that we started getting down to opening the fan café to the public. From the 1st to the 5th, approximately 15,000 people subscribed to the café.This is evidence that pop music fans are showing a high level of interest for 2NE1.”

2NE1’s ‘Fire,’ which was composed by YG Entertainment’s main producer, 1tym’s Teddy, is a hip-hop song with an inclination towards reggae. On the 6th, the full song and two different versions of the music video will be released simultaneously.

2NE1, Netizens’ Interest Skyrocket at Release of 20 Sec. “Fire”

To release their official debut song on the coming 6^th, YG Entertainment’s new girl group 2NE1 is garnering the interest of netizens.

On the 1^st, as a mere 20 seconds of 2NE1’s official debut song and title song ‘Fire’ was released, more than 200,000 people visited the official homepage (www.yg-2ne1.com) in just a day.

On YG Entertainment’s side, “After the 2NE1 homepage was opened, the daily average for visitors were about 50,000, but when the music was released on the 1^st, more than 200,000 visited, so now we are working on a server extension.” They showed a surprised reaction.

2NE1’s “Fire” was composed and written by 1tym’s Teddy, and being a reggae/fast hip-hop song, it is quite different than the music of other girl groups in the country. Especially after 20 seconds was released on the 1^st, the plans of 10 seconds being released every day after that gathers interest.

It is scheduled for the official debut of 2NE1’s full song to be on the 6^th, along with two different versions of the music video, and the first debut stage performance to be on SBS Inkigayo on the 17^th.

[YG News] YG, “We are more worried about 2NE1’s debut than when Big Bang did”

YG speaks up the upcoming debut of their female group 2NE1 this May.

YG Entertainment said in an interview on the 22nd, “We have not decided on how to have 2NE1 debut. The company is going through discussions on that currently. Mr. Yang Hyun Seok is putting a lot of emphasis and planning for 2NE1’s debut.”

“Because this is the female group that YG is debuting for a long time ever since the last female group, we can only be more prudent and careful with the planning. As compared to debuting Big Bang, we are more worried and had put in much more effort for debuting 2NE1.”
