10 reasons you should be watching ‘The Hours of My Life'

1. Well, it's amazing, so there's that.
I am undoubtedly right, Megumi. The acting, the editing, the music, and the story are top-notch. When a show can make me freak the bleep out with the sound of a ticking clock or even a sudden silence, I know it's doing something right.
2. Haruma Miura is the lead actor.

...and he's incredible! And incredibly gorg, just throwing that out there. But seriously, his acting is very impressive.
3. It's only eleven episodes.
Not a big commitment at all. Time-wise, that is. Emotionally though...
4. Everyone needs a good cry sometimes.
When the title sequence features the lead crying, you know to get your box(es) of tissues ready.
5. But while dealing with such a heavy subject, it still makes time for comedic relief:
That screenshot might be even better taken out of context.
6. It teaches the viewer about ALS, and how people cope with it.
The more Takuto learns, the more we do, both factually and emotionally.

7. The side characters are fantastic.

As the show continues, we are met with difficult family situations, supportive friends, sketchy "friends," and side plots that never drift too far from the main one or cause our interest to waver.
8. The main love story will give you ALL of the feels.
It's only expected that any romance in this drama was along for a bumpy ride, but it's one that I want to stay buckled into forever.
9. It feels realistic.
It's not sugarcoated, which should be appreciated, because there really is no way to sugarcoat the subject matter. The different reactions to Takuto's condition feel genuine, especially his own.
10. It's inspiring!
If there's a message behind this show, it's to live in the present and to always find your next goal, no matter how dire your situation may be. Do I feel inconsolably depressed after each episode? Well, kind of, but you bet your as inspired as I am inspired too.
