Of all the celebrities who came to the pre-inaugural celebrations of President-Elect Barak Obama, the Philippines’ very own Charice Pempengco was invited to perform at the Pre-Inaugural Ball headed by Martin Luther King III.
Charice wowed American audiences again and received a roaring standing ovation from the audience when she sang at the January 18 awarding ceremony of “Realizing the Dream”, the nonprofit group of the son of Martin Luther King Jr.
Charice Pempengco was a little scared that she might make a mistake, but she didn’t have to worry. Her performance of “God Bless America and “One Moment in Time” were impeccable!
Charice felt so proud to be singing to sing “God Bless America”. And she admired Mr. Obama for being sincere and bringing hope and change to America. “This is it. This is the change [America is] hoping for.”
Tomorrow, January 20, marks the inauguration of President-Elect Barak Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America.
Charice Pempengco will be staying in the US for three more months to record her first international debut album.
